After the most recent update via PCgamer, I can only say about the upcoming MW3... EPIC FAIL! Console kiddies have at it. The CoD Cash Machine Franchise did it again. By removing dedicated servers from the PC version, they have screwed the backbone and original foundation of the competitive gaming industry; the PC gamers. Real gamers use a keyboard and mouse, not a joystick controller. The game makers suckered PC gamers into buying MW2 even though they removed a cornerstone of our industry (the dedicated servers), with the promise that we'd get to play vs the console kids (at least on the Xcrap 3sh!tty). When the console community cried like kids who missed the ice cream man, they pulled it off the table. Console gaming has destroyed the world of First Person Shooter gaming, with their peer-to-peer game lobbies instead of dedicated servers, and their lame perks, kill-streaks, and prestige nonsense. The very least these companies could do is let the REAL gamers mop the floors with them over and over again, relentlessly, until they smash their joysticks on the coffee table. CoD franchise is dead in the eyes of the PC gaming community. Bring on Battlefield 3...

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day and officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Although hhere are many stories as to the actual beginnings, with over 24 cities claiming to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women's groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War: a hymn published in 1867, "Kneel Where Our Loves are Sleeping" by Nella L. Sweet carried the dedication "To The Ladies of the South who are Decorating the Graves of the Confederate Dead". While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it's difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. It is more likely that it had many separate beginnings; each of those towns and every planned or spontaneous gathering of people to honor the war dead in the 1860's tapped into the general human need to honor our dead, each contributed honorably to the growing movement that culminated in Gen Logan giving his official proclamation in 1868. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.

Last night, after a season that surprised everyone outside of the Regiment, the Death Hounds League Team's first season came to a climatic end against Dream Team. Our Hounds held the highest scoring team (averaging just over twelve flag captures per match) to eight caps, and only three in the first half. The season started inauspiciously with loses in the pre-season, but ended with the Hounds having a playoff berth and a first round upset. When the dust settled, the Death Hounds League line-up will enter the campaign again next season, but when their boots hit the ground then it will be as a respected and potent unit looking to take an even bigger bite out of their opponents, and the championship. This loss was not the end of the race; just the first hurtle. Congratulations to all the Rangers that had a hand in the success of the Squad this season, HOOAH!
