The furlough primarily affects our Rangers who are usually engaged in Match play with the "Dragons" Squad of our 11th BC2 Battalion as well as the "Black Knights" Squad and the "Death Hounds" Squad of our 10th MW2 Battalion. There will be no League, Ladder, or Tournament matches during this period.

I would like to personally wish a Happy 4th of July and Canada Day to all of our Rangers, Recruits, Applicants, Fans, Allies and Gaming Community Members here in the States. It has been a full month since we have had the opportunity to affix a "bat wing" to the uniform of one of our Rangers. Earning that very first promotion with this Regiment carries with it the overwhelming feeling of relief, knowing that you've take that first big step and that you are on your way, but it also carries with it a great sense of accomplishment. This more often than not spawns a feeling of pride within the Ranger; for himself and for his team. Private Keeton Bachman wears his pride on his sleeve for all to see; teammates and opponents alike. Every time this Soldier steps onto the battlefield, there opposing forces soon realize there's gonna be hell to pay! Never one to hold back when it comes to a firefight, or when a blunt word is needed in VoiceComm, this Ranger's fighting spirit has a presence all it's own. Our Regiment will always be on the lookout for new CoRE members just like Private Bachman.

On their own, a pair of chevrons aren't very imposing at all. However, on a soldier's uniform they can weigh a great deal, and carry with them the responsibility of an entire team, as well as the mission itself. This is true even in our Virtual Combat Units. David Helmuth enlisted in the 73rd CombatOps Regiment, but almost immediately was faced with personal hardships and more than a few hills to overcome in his real life. After a brief LOA, he returned to find the 11th Bad Company 2 Battalion mustering, slowly. He decided to dedicate his play-time, even if that meant gaming alone from time to time (while the other members concentrated on the MW2 playoffs), toward gaining a solid understanding of the game overall, as well as a firm grasp of the tactics and intricacies that he would later use to help instruct and train his fellow Rangers. Without a torch bearer, the BC2 Squads would surely have missed the first season of League combat and more than likely the game would have failed to develop into a fully functioning Battalion within our Regiment. It is that dedication, commitment, and unwavering loyalty that has earned this recognition, today.

It is my privilege to announce the following promotion and assignment:

David "Homebrew" Helmuth has been appointed to the rank of Corporal, enrolled in our Regiment's Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Training, and assigned as a Squad Leader within the 11th Bad Company 2 Battalion's Delta Company. I am positive that with the help of the other Cadre and the experience and determination he has already demonstrated, Corporal Helmuth will rise through the ranks of our NCO corps with the greatest of ease. If the NCO is the backbone of any fighting unit, then the ridged spine of our forces just got a whole lot stronger.

With our Regiment waging war in both MW2 and BC2 and joining more campaigns on each of those fronts, we are scouting and recruiting new blood on a daily basis. In addition to fresh boots enlisting each week we are in the process of finalizing a team merger which will add to the Strength, Skill, and Diversity of our rosters and our Regiment as a whole. The more Rangers we field, and the more opponents we encounter on the battlefield or in our own server, the more the need for a watchful eye to ensure that ALL competitions we engage in are fought by and against legit soldiers.

It has been more than two years since we have had an active and skilled Officer assigned to the office of Anti-Cheat Enforcement. This position literally serves as an EagleEye keeping watch on our Rangers, our Opponents, as well as assisting in all investigations and researching all applicants. This position is not an easy one and while the A.C.E. Officer(s) do not hold a seat on the J.C.S. (leadership council) for the purpose of making competitive decisions, as an Officer in this Regiment the Officer(s) assigned may. The office of Anti-Cheat Enforcement reports directly to the J.C.S. and answers to the Regiment Commander and Executive Officer.

It is my privilege to announce the following promotion and assignment:

Adam "Moozilla" Haungs" has  been  appointed  to  the  rank  of Warrant Officer, enrolled in our Regiment's Officer Training Program, and is hereby assigned as Anti-Cheat Enforcement Officer. With WO1 A.Haungs on watch, I am sure that our goal of maintaining an impeccable reputation for legit and honest game play will be a sure-shot. While everyone makes mistakes, and we understand that anyone can crack under pressure, it is our goal to ensure that cheating while on our roster NEVER occurs. The commitment of this Regiment to keep dishonest gamers off of our teams has never been higher. I have seen very few "reformed gamers" in all my years of virtual combat, therefore when applying to our team all applicants will be researched; while playing against our Squads all players will be scrutinized; while on our roster all Rangers will be held to the highest standard with ZERO tolerance for cheating of ANY kind. WO1 A.Haungs has full authority and autonomy in these areas as well as access to all servers, records and files. I have the utmost confidence that the Rosters of our Virtual Combat Units will be by far the cleanest in the community.

It was a bright day for our unit when we found these two very skilled Brothers who showed commitment and loyalty to each other, and who brought that dedication with them to our Regiment to share with the rest of our Rangers. In our growing Regiment, with new boots enlisting each week and with new soldiers dedicating themselves to our team and to their individual goal of being the best members they can be by earning the rank and recognition reflective of their active daily commitment, it is no wonder that we not only have a group of Rangers who are ready to lead our Virtual Combat Units into the battles that lie ahead, but that we also have a need for more leadership at the highest levels.

Chris Milot has served within the teams of this Regiment on and off for many years, and while the faces around him inevitably change, he knows that our mission and our commitment to our team goals do not. Our Modern Warfare 2 units continue to fight within the campaigns of the Team Warfare Leagues, and as we add new rosters and leadership to these Squads, there also comes a need for oversight, guidance, and accountability to help the young NCOs tasked with the responsibility of serving as Squad Leaders for these teams. 

With our first Officer Appointment in over two years it is my privilege to announce the following promotion and Command assignment:

Christopher "Bhamcrew" Milot  has  been  appointed  to  the  rank  of Second Lieutenant, enrolled in our Regiment's Officer Training Program, and is hereby assigned as Commander of our 10th Modern Warfare 2 Battalion. With Lieutenant Milot's drive and attention to detail, as well as his ability to inspire and lead the Rangers under his command, I have no doubt that our MW2 Squads will be leading the pack and bringing home League, Ladder, and Tournament Championships in not time.

Another dedicated Soldier adds the "bat wing" to his uniform. Earning their first promotion with this Regiment is very important to our Rangers. Private Nathan Rush is definitely no exception to that, and the dedication he has for his team and for his career is evident each and every time he enters the field of battle. Private Rush continues to fight against not only the OpFor in Virtual Combat, but his schedule as well; making every effort to be there for his Squad and for his fellow Rangers when needed. I am sure the deep Southern voice in TeamSpeak will be a staple for years to come, and sometimes the Soldiers who speak the least, end up saying the most! Our Regiment will continue to scout  for more Recruits and Soldiers to serve as CoRE members just like Private Rush.

This week we award an ambitious young Ranger with his first chevron along with his first promotion with this Regiment. Private Zachary Donnenfield continues to exemplify determination and a thirst for competition.  His full throttle attitude will serve him well in combat and in his efforts to climb the ranks of this unit. Private Donnen continues to display a genuine desire to push his team to victory without asking for a pat on the back for just himself. Our Virtual Combat Units will no doubt stand as Champions soon with CoRE members like Private Donnen right there in the fight.

As our NCO Corps continues to grow, today we announce another Ranger who can wear proudly the pair of chevrons synonymous with the first level of the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer ranks. Adam Haungs is a real life soldier who has often displayed that very unique type of discipline and dedication within our Virtual Combat Units and has shown on countless occasions his determination and proclivity for being a leader on and off the field of battle.

Adam "Moozilla" Haungs" has been promoted from the rank of Private First Class to  Corporal, enrolled in our Regiment's Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Training, and will soon be assigned as a Squad Leader within the 10th Modern Warfare 2 Battalion's Alpha Company. I am positive that Corporal Haungs will continue to climb the NCO ladder, and as his leadership skills strengthen, I'm confident he will one day wear the coveted Commissioned Officer's ranks within the 73rd Regiment.

As we all know, the NCO is the backbone of any unit, and our eSports Gaming Teams are no exceptions. Promoting a member up the Ranks is one of the things that leaders enjoy most, however, being able to watch first hand as a Soldier makes the climb from "New Boots" to NCO is a real treat.

Today we add another leader-in-training to our NCO Corp and it is my privilege to announce the following promotion:

Joseph "ThEoN3nOnLy" Mariani has been promoted from the rank of Private First Class to Corporal, enrolled in our Regiment's Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Training, and will soon be assigned as a Squad Leader within the 10th Modern Warfare 2 Battalion's Alpha Company. I am sure that this Ranger will prove in no time that he has the metal and maturity to lead one of our Virtual Combat Units to victory.

The time has come for one of our most dedicated Rangers and a highly respected Junior NCO to tack on his third and final chevron and join our other two brothers as Sergeants within this Regiment. Following in the footsteps of Master Sergeant Osborne and Staff Sergeant Crowder, Sergeant Milot will continue his role as a leader with even more focus and determination. Our newest Sergeant will continue toward the collective goal of training and fielding the most well prepared Soldiers we can and bring victory to our Virtual Combat Units in whatever campaign they are deployed to.

Sergeant Milot has had a long career within the teams of this Regiment, and he has seen many members come and go. It is his loyalty and dedication to our team as a whole that has helped him stand true through all the ups and the downs. I have no doubt that Sergeant Milot will be a Commisioned Officer within the 73rd Regiment, but it is his time in service as an NCO that will have the biggest impact on our CoRE members as well as the direction and success of our Squads and Battalions.

This week we highlight the promotion of a determined young Ranger who has virtually scratched and clawed his way to his first promotion with this Regiment. Private Ross Gugliotta continues to display unwavering loyalty even when his real life obligations pull him away from Combat.  A more responsible young man we haven't seen on this base in quite some time. As a CoRE member, Private Gug embodies exactly the type of charater and dedication that will propell our Virtual Combat Units to the top and will help this Regiment stand strong for decades to come.

It is my pleasure to announce that our Delta Company "Dragons" Squad will follow its TWL BC2 Kickoff Tourney appearance with a Ladder campaign and that while the position of Squad Leader and Assistant Squad Leader has yet to be assigned, practices will begin this week followed by the Regiment RoundTable Conferance next week. This Squad will indeed be a large unit and the Leadership assigned will need the help and dedication of each "Dragons" Squad member if they are to rise above the rest in the upcoming TWL Battlefield Bad Company 2 competitions and bring honor and recognition from the community home to all of us here in the 73rd Regiment.

We have on our roster a member who keeps his name in the news and keeps his team in the forefront of his activities as much as possible. He Recruited PV2 Stowe and many others, he is the leading Recruiter this year already, he is our reigning Ranger of the Month for March, and he has continued to build momentum and earn the points  to advance. Two Privates have shown a lot of dedication through adversity and continue to climb the ladder, here in the 73rd Regiment.
