On their own, a pair of chevrons aren't very imposing at all. However, on a soldier's uniform they can weigh a great deal, and carry with them the responsibility of an entire team, as well as the mission itself. This is true even in our Virtual Combat Units. David Helmuth enlisted in the 73rd CombatOps Regiment, but almost immediately was faced with personal hardships and more than a few hills to overcome in his real life. After a brief LOA, he returned to find the 11th Bad Company 2 Battalion mustering, slowly. He decided to dedicate his play-time, even if that meant gaming alone from time to time (while the other members concentrated on the MW2 playoffs), toward gaining a solid understanding of the game overall, as well as a firm grasp of the tactics and intricacies that he would later use to help instruct and train his fellow Rangers. Without a torch bearer, the BC2 Squads would surely have missed the first season of League combat and more than likely the game would have failed to develop into a fully functioning Battalion within our Regiment. It is that dedication, commitment, and unwavering loyalty that has earned this recognition, today.
It is my privilege to announce the following promotion and assignment:
David "Homebrew" Helmuth has been appointed to the rank of Corporal, enrolled in our Regiment's Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Training, and assigned as a Squad Leader within the 11th Bad Company 2 Battalion's Delta Company. I am positive that with the help of the other Cadre and the experience and determination he has already demonstrated, Corporal Helmuth will rise through the ranks of our NCO corps with the greatest of ease.
Congratulations, Ranger!
